Zambales is known for its surf spots (Pundaquit, Crystal and Liwa) and secluded coves (Anawangin, Nagsasa, Talisayin and Silanguin) down south. From these towns, three more hours going north by bus, past Iba, will bring you to several islands with unspoiled beaches and less people. One of the less popular spots is Magalawa Island in Palauig which we've decided to go to. Here’s a comprehensive guide on this secluded Zambales getaway with our budget PHP 2200 (2 days and 1 night: included transport options, yummy foods, accommodation and island activity)👌😊👉

HOW TO GET THERE:
🚥 via PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:
* from manila, take a Sta. Cruz, Zambales bound bus ( Victory Liner)
* Drop off is Brgy. Pangolingan, Palauig
* Take a tricycle going to Oslet Armada Fisher Dealer compound in Brgy. Luan
* Take Armada resort boat to Magalawa Island ( Approx. 10 minutes )
🚥 via PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION:
* Take NLEX then SCTEX, then take the Subic Bay free port expressway to connect with the National road. Follow the signs to Iba.
* As you pass by Iba market, head towards Amungan Triangle ( Palauig Junc. 1) or keep right towards Banlog Triangle ( Palauig Junc. 2)
* From Banlog triangle keep right and then head north to Pangolingan. After the Salaza bridge you will see at the right side of the road "WELCOME TO PANGOLINGAN" signage.
* From there slowdown then you will see on your left side a waiting shed and tricycles. Turn left and go straight until you reached the Armada fish dealer compound where you can park your vehicle.
* Take Armada resort boat to Magalawa Island ( Approx. 10 minutes )

👉 WHAT TO DO:

* Snorkeling – This was also included in the package we availed, including the snorkeling gears. I didn’t expect there's so much to see in this part of Zambales. I’ve been to Zambales several times and never had a chance to actually explore so much marine life in one place.
* Relax on the beach or on a balsa. – Relaxing on the beach is, of course, free. If you want a more extensive view of marine life or if you just want to relax in the middle of the ocean, you can opt to rent a balsa for PHP 100.
* Play volleyball - bring your own ball though haha :D

- No Bonfire
- No picking of starfish
- No pitching of tent at the shore. All tents to be pitch only inside the resort under the shaded trees
